New Year 2016 Resolutions {San Diego Wedding Photographer}

Gosh ! I can't believe another year has begun ! I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon and make a few general resolutions for the next year.
Like a lot of creative professionals, I go through phases of self doubt and feelings of unworthiness, so I am going to try and work more on my self confidence. I am going to be more brave. If I want to try something, I'm going to try to set aside my embarrassment and introvertedness and just do it. I get bogged down with filling my time with either work or couch-sitting and TV watching and then feel guilty when I realized I've missed out on doing something I really love. I want to make time to sing, and maybe start playing an instrument again. I want to get outside and go camping more. I want to eat less carbs and sugar, eat more greens and exercise more.
Ok, maybe I should stop there. Baby steps ...

Who's with me ? Let's be brave together this year !

Santa Sessions at Avanti Salon {Escondido Photographer}

My friend and hair stylist, Stephanie, has been collecting gifts for the children staying at Solutions for Change, an organization assisting homeless families, for a couple of years now. This year, she hosted a gift drop off gathering at Avanti Salon in Escondido where kids and their parents could drop off their donated gifts, eat some yummy cookies and get a photo taken with Santa. Well this year, my dad volunteered to don the famous red and white outfit, beard and boots and take photos with the kids. He did an amazing job and even got my mom to tell "Santa" what she wanted for Christmas ! Below is the photo I captured of my parents. I love it so much ! Shows how silly they can get with each other, which I think is important in any long term relationship ! Oh, and did I mention that Winnie played Santa's helper and all the kids loved her, of course !
Merry Christmas everyone ! I pray that the Lord bless you and your family and keep you safe over this Festive Season !

St George's Serbian Church San Diego {San Diego, California Wedding Photographer} - Karen & Darijo's Serbian Wedding

Karen & Darijo were referred to me by Jelena & Nemanja, whose wedding I photographed last November. And not to be excluded, 2015 was another year for a Serbian Thanksgiving Week Wedding ! This time it was at the gorgeous +St George Serbian Orthodox Church in San Diego, California ! Such a stunning ceremony location ! It was a first time for me taking the wedding portraits 2 weeks before the wedding and I kinda liked it ! We got to do a nice long portrait session at Balboa Park AND the Hotel Del Coronado ! And it was so much more relaxed ! Their ceremony was at the church with the reception in the church hall next door, which was amazingly transformed by +Bconcept Event Planning ! Gorgeous draped walls and feather centerpieces. So romantic ! After dinner the crazy, Serbian fun began and everyone was dancing !

It all begins at Balboa Park with a first look at his bride ...

Then we are off to the Hotel del Coronado ...
