Old Town San Diego Engagement Photo Session {San Diego Wedding Photographer} - Celia and Matthew

Celia & Matthew met when he was working at Casa Guadalajara in Old Town San Diego and remained friends over the years even after Matthew moved up to Northern California. Friendship turned to romance and they started dating long distance flying back and forth for a while until Matthew moved back to San Diego and things got serious. Like, "he put a ring on it" serious !
So we decided to revisit their old stomping grounds and head to Old Town for their Engagement Session ! It was a gorgeous warm San Diego Winter's day but the Superbowl kept the crowds at home ! It was so great getting to know this adorable couple better and I am really looking forward to their wedding this April at Tom Ham's Lighthouse in San Diego.

New Year 2016 Resolutions {San Diego Wedding Photographer}

Gosh ! I can't believe another year has begun ! I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon and make a few general resolutions for the next year.
Like a lot of creative professionals, I go through phases of self doubt and feelings of unworthiness, so I am going to try and work more on my self confidence. I am going to be more brave. If I want to try something, I'm going to try to set aside my embarrassment and introvertedness and just do it. I get bogged down with filling my time with either work or couch-sitting and TV watching and then feel guilty when I realized I've missed out on doing something I really love. I want to make time to sing, and maybe start playing an instrument again. I want to get outside and go camping more. I want to eat less carbs and sugar, eat more greens and exercise more.
Ok, maybe I should stop there. Baby steps ...

Who's with me ? Let's be brave together this year !

Santa Sessions at Avanti Salon {Escondido Photographer}

My friend and hair stylist, Stephanie, has been collecting gifts for the children staying at Solutions for Change, an organization assisting homeless families, for a couple of years now. This year, she hosted a gift drop off gathering at Avanti Salon in Escondido where kids and their parents could drop off their donated gifts, eat some yummy cookies and get a photo taken with Santa. Well this year, my dad volunteered to don the famous red and white outfit, beard and boots and take photos with the kids. He did an amazing job and even got my mom to tell "Santa" what she wanted for Christmas ! Below is the photo I captured of my parents. I love it so much ! Shows how silly they can get with each other, which I think is important in any long term relationship ! Oh, and did I mention that Winnie played Santa's helper and all the kids loved her, of course !
Merry Christmas everyone ! I pray that the Lord bless you and your family and keep you safe over this Festive Season !
