Lake Hodges, Escondido, CA {Kris & Mike's Engagement Session}

Kris and Mike got engaged in December but decided to wait until Spring for their engagement session. With all the rain, Lake Hodges was super lush and green and we even found a few wildflowers ! I am excited for their wedding in the next year and I know this cute couple is looking forward to all the adventures to come !

Jennifer, of Jennifer Alison Designs, a designer and photographer got in touch because her little girl is about to turn 2. It is both fun and nerve wracking to photograph a fellow photographer as I never know how much or how little instruction to give ! It was great to meet them for a family session at Lake Hodges yesterday. Wrangling an active 2 year old is a challenge but having a photographer for a mom, meant she was used to having a big black camera in her face ! We snapped a few pics under the trees, then headed for the brush near the lake once the sun went behind the hills. We even squeezed in a few headshots for Jennifer and a few behind the scenes shots of her shooting her daughter.

Photographing friends is a unique mix of excitement and nervousness 'cause you want to do extra well for them ! Despite their initial self-consciousness, Kris and Eric relaxed pretty quickly and started having fun. And it shows in their super cute photos ! Kris is a Pinterest-aholic and handmade the save the date pillows. Then we decided to follow through the pillow theme with a pillow fight ! By the time we left the park, it looked like a goose had met its untimely demise ! Good times !
